Washington, March 8. Colonel Eddy, purchasing agent in the South-West Pacific, said to-day that Australia’s contribution to lend-lease was proportionately greater than America’s. Eighteen per cent, of Australia’s war expenditure goes to lendlease compared with the United States 14 per cent. He added that Australia had promised to supply over 250,000,000, lbs of meat in 1944, also 40 per cent, of the total Australian tyre and tube production, helping to alleviate shortages in the United States.
