REMAND ON THEFT CHARGE

Christchurch, Feb. 7. Angus Cameron Macfarlane, aged 44, civil servant, was charged in the Magistrates’ Court at Christchurch that between 29th April, 1943. and 9th September, 1943. be stole £327 18s sd. the property of the Ministry of Supply, by doing an act to aid Cecil Selwyn Sapsford to commit theft of the aforesaid moneys. Senior-Detective H. Nuttall, who prosecuted, applied for a remand to 24th February, and this was granted by Mr Levvey, S.M., with the consent of counsel. Bail was allowed at £SOO in accused’s own recognisance, with one surety of £SOO. —P.A.
