AMMUNITION EXPLODES

10 KILLED AND 60 INJURED ACCIDENT IN RAILWAY YARD London, Feb. 5. Ten were killed and 60 injured when ammunition exploded while being loaded on to trucks at a northern railway yard on Friday. Casualties among service personnel were six killed and six injured. The explosion shook the countryside over a wide area and the blast itself was felt three miles away. Police, fireguards’ and civilians worked for hours to control fires started by the explosion. Numerous buildings in the vicinity were damaged. Debris covered the roads for some miles.
