LARGE DECREASE IN I*RODUCTION Greymouth. Feb. 4. Coal production during the week at the two Runanga State mines (the Strongman and Liverpool) was' between 55 and 60 per cent, ol normal figures The normal weekly production at the. Strongman mine is about 2700 tons, but this week it was approximately 169;• tons, or mut‘e than 1000 tons less Daily production figures at the .mm this week were approximately is Col lows ; Monday. 270 tons; Tuesday, JOO tons; Wednesday 400 tons; 'hursdu.y. 360 tons; Friday, 000 tons At the Liverpool mine, wiiert this week’s production of approximately 1850 tons, is down L>y LOSU tons on nn average week’s output of 3500 lons, me daily production figures this week were: Monday 400 Ions; Tuesday, 380 uns, Wednesday, 4(50 tons; Thursday, 400 tons; Friday, 260 tons; against a normal Output of 700 tons daily These figures show that of the usual approximate production weekly of 6125 tons rom both mines, only about 3530 tons have been mined this Week, a decrease ol approximately 2595 tons. A go-slow policy has been in operation at the two mines this week, ?U;d' there is no indication when it will end.
