ATTEMPTED MURDER CHARGE
Christchurch, Feb. 4. John Arthur Carey, aged 17, appeared in the Magistrate's Court today charged with attempting to murder Isobel Mai Howell at Mt. Nimrod on January 27. Accused was remanded until February 11. The police said that the condition of the woman had improved somewhat. but it would be some time before she was able to give evidence.—• P.A.
