BOWLING AT TAKAKA

MATCHES FOR EMMS’ CUP On Anniversary Day the Takaka and Motueka Bowling Clubs held the first of two home-and-home games for the Emms’ Cup. The matches were played on the Takaka green, resulting in a win for the home team by 115 points to 98. At a later date a return match will be played at Motueka, when the team with the greater aggregate in the two matches will be presented with the cup.

The following were the results (Motueka names given first) : —Wilkinson 17. Polglase 21: Whitwell 15, Kirk 23* Thomas 17, Cate 21; Knapp 28, Emms 33; Thorp 21, Murray 17. Totals: Motueka 98, Takaka 115.
