ATTACKS BY MOSQUITOES MINES LAID IN ENEMY WATERS (Rec. 9.50 a.m.) Rugby, Jan. 7. The Air Ministry states: “Bomber Command Mosquitoes last night attacked objectives in western Germany and northern trance Other aircraft laid mines in enemy waters. All returned. Yesterday R.A.F. medium and light bombers and fighter-bombers in small formations attacked military objectives in northern France. They were escorted by R.A.F. and Allied fight* ers. R.A.F., Dominion and Allied fighters carried out offensive patrols over northern France. Three enemy aircraft were destroyed. Six of ours are missing.” U.S.A.A.F Marauder medium bombers to-day attacked military objectives in northern France without loss. They were escorted and covered by R.A.F., Dominion and Allied fighters Formations of planes which crossed the English Channel to-day are believed to have penetrated fairly deeply beyond the French coast. The formations appeared to include a large number of bombers. They returned across the Channel ■ ni and a half to two hours later.
