TYPHUS IN NAPLES

WARNINGS TO POPULATION London, Jan. 5. A rapid increase in typhus cases at Naples last week resulted in new warnings and instructions to the population from high Allied military authorities, says the Naples correspondent of the Associated Press of Great Britain. The Allied statement says that a real epidemic may begin. It is known that at least 100 new cases have been found since the figure of 250, which was announced ten days ago. There is not a single case among the Fifth Army personnel, but military dispensaries are crammed with troops receiving innoculations, while Naples is still closed against all troops except those billeted there. EIGHT AXIS SHIPS SUNK London, Dec. 6. An Admiralty communique reports that British submarines in the Mediterranean have sunk eight vessels, including a tanker.
