ESCAPED PRISONERS

NEWS OF NEW ZEALANDERS (Rec 11.50 a.m.) London, Jan. 6. News of New Zealanders who escaped from Italy to Switzerland has been received in London from Private D. L. Jacobs, Christchurch. He states: “About fifty from the camp l was in had arrived. The Swiss people are very good and kindness itself. T have been able to hire a wireless and listen in to the New Zealand news broadcast from Lon'#on every Tuesday.” Expressing thanks to Mr C. B. Burdekin, who is in charge of the Prisoners of War Department, New Zealand House. Private Jacobs says: “New Zealand House has done a great job of work for the lads. I really believe we are treated better than any of the Dominions.”—P.A. Special Correspondent.
