U.S. MERCHANT SEAMEN

CASUALTIES SINCE PEARL HARBOUR Washington, Nov. 25. The War Shipping Administration announced that nearly 4800 United States merchant seamen have been listed dead or missing in combat action since Pearl Harbour, while 547 are prisoners of war. A total of officers and seamen serving in United States merchantmen have been awarded the Merchant Marine Combat Bar for active service on ships which have been in direfct combat with the enemy.
