TAKAKA TOWN BOARD

At the bi-monthly meeting of the Takaka Town Board the following were present: Messrs N. L. Bensemann (in the chair), K. Page and E. Polglase. Apologies were received from Messrs E. C. Wadsworth and Pollard. Accounts totalling £125 4s Id were passed for payment. Mr C. J. Emms was granted permission to erect a dwelling from a building removed from Puramahoi. The secretary of the Takaka branch of the W.D.F.U. applied for a donation towards the upkeep of the Rest Room. It was decided to ant £5. Mr Page asked if it was possible to secure the services of a chimney sweep as the position in Takaka was serious. It was decided to try to obtain the services of a sweep. It was reported that complaints had been made regarding unregistered vehicles being deposited on the road. The board decided that the offenders should be asked to arrange for the unregistered vehicles, plant and other articles deposited on the public road, to be removed without further notice.
