STATE ADVANCES STAFF SOCIAL
Bright and novel entertainment was presented when the staff ot tne State Advances Corporation held a social evening in the Rechabite Hall recently, with the object of raising funds for soldiers’ parcels. An invitation was extended to the staffs of other Government Departments and their friends, so that the gathering was quite a large one.
The programme comprised novelty games, and competitions, interspersed with dancing. The duties of M.C. were carried out by Messrs Boys and Harris. Historical charades, presented by members of the State Advances Corporation staff, were much appreciated, and considerable enthusiasm was displayed when Mr Harris auctioned several cakes. Due to the wholehearted effort of the committee, the function proved an unqualified success.
