THREE U-BOATS SUNK
SINGLE AIRCRAFT OVER ATLANTIC (Rec. 1.20 p.m.) Rugby, Sept. 28. It is announced in Washington that three U-boats were sunk in the Atlantic recently by a sing!-? aircraft flying from an escort carrier on convoy duty. A fourth submarine is reported to have been damaged. Sixty-five survivors were picked up by a destroyer.
