NAZIS WORRIED
DESERTION OF AIR FORCE PILOTS DOCUMENT FOUND IN TUNISIA London, July 1. Desertion of German air force pilots with their planes is worrying the Nazis says the “Evening Standard’s” diplomatic correspondent. A document fourffi in Tunisia ordered commanders to supply reports on all pilots presumed to have surrendered unnecessarily. A scrutiny of the political records of these pilots was ordered, especially in cases where any anti-Nazi or lukewarm Nazi views were suspected. Since the devastating R.A.F. raids of Germany be-‘ gan German civilians have begun to lose confidence in their air force. Luftwaffe pilots resent this and are dissatisfied because the German public are not allowed to know the numerical superiority of the R.A.F.—P.A.
