TO-DAY'S WEATHER FORECAST
COLD WITH FROSTS Wellington, This Day. The indications are for moderate south-westerly winds, some further rain to-day, but becoming fair tomorrow. Temperatures cold with snow on the ranges and further sharp frosts to-night. The further outlook is for mainly fair conditions. As if in a final endeavour to make this June the wettest on record, rain commenced again in Nelson early last evening and continued steadily with several heavy showers until 9.30 o’clock this morning, by which time .61 of an inch had fallen, bringing the month’s total rainfall to date to 7.12 inches. A sudden heavy shower of hail during the evening drummed loudly on roofs in the city. The rain was accompanied by a cold and blustering southeasterly wind. The weather had improved slightly to-day, although further light showers fell during the morning and the sky remained overcast. There was six hours 46 minutes’ sunshine in Nelson yesterday.
