ALLIES EVEN IN KISSING

British and American Air Forces are co-operating as never before, AirMarshal Sir Arthur Harris, Chief of the R.A.F. Bomber Command, said at a luncheon for U.S. correspondents. To illustrate his point, Marshal Harris referred to the personal co-opera-tion between Major-General Ira C. Eaker, Chief of the American Eighth Army Air Force, and himself, saying: “When General Eaker stays at my home he kisses my wife the same as I do, and I like it.” Mrs Ira C. Eaker’s only comment in Washington, when she learned that her husband had been kissing Lady Harris, was: “Good heavens, is that in the paper?”—London and Washington correspondents of United Press.
