AIRMEN’S CONTRIBUTION
CEREMONY AT CAMP Palmerston N., June 28. A ceremony unique in the history of war loan contributions took place at an Air Force camp this afternoon, when in the presence of Mr Nash, Minister of Finance, and Air Commodore Isitt, the camp's contribution to the Third Liberty Loan was handed over to the representatives of the Palmerston North Loan Committee. The sum of no less than £24,190 was subscribed by Air Force units in sums ranging from £1 to £IOOO, 1197 airmen contributing to the total. Thanking the air trainees for their contribution, Mr Nash said to the men:
“Surely if you do the fighting we ought to be doing the paying. You have done a magnificent job in making this splendid contribution to the Liberty Loan, and it should be an example and inspiration to every citizen of this Dominion.”—P.A.
