PETROL COUPONS
NEW SETS TO BE ISSUED Wellington, This Day. The Oil Fuel Controller stated to-day that petrol coupons numbered 28 to 36 inclusive, of sets that have been on issue for the motor vehicle licensing years 1941-42 and 1942-43 will no longer be valid at the end of this month. Owing to the possibility of the old series of coupons being confused with the new series, motorists are requested to destroy the old series. New sets of coupons that are being issued as vehicles are relicensed for 1943-44, will be redeemable at the end of the present month, commencing with No. 1, subject of course to the continuance of allowances for private owners on the usual basis. The new coupons are of a slightly different design, the main new feature being that the number of each coupon is printed in both figures and words. The printing of numbers in words has been adopted with a view to making it more difficult for dishonestly inclined persons to alter the numbers of void coupons so as to make them available at a later date. —P.A.
