Total receipts in recent rears have been:— 1939, £37.797.904;' 1940. £44.522.028. 1941. £61.360.840: 1942. £68.163.255 1943, £87.940,844. Comparisons per head of population for the same years are as follows. war taxation included being shown in parentheses;—l939. £23 9* 2d: 1940, £27 5s 2d (£1 6s 9d): 1941, £37 10s 3d (£9 12s 6d); 1942 £4l 16s 2d (£l3 9s Id): 1943 £5? 12s 4d ( £24 2s 4d).
