Mr and Mrs W. Blue, Nile street, have received advice that their son, Lieut. Garfield Blue, who is serving with the New Zealand Forces in the Middle East, has been promoted to the rank of Captain. Letters received to-day state that he is fit and well. Messrs F. A. Eden and C. W. Warnes (southern ward), and Messrs D, I. and S. I. Llewellin (northern ward)) have been appointed members of the Nelson Raspberry Marketing Committee. No election was necessary.
