MILDEST FOR 30 YEARS
WINTER IN BRITAIN
(Rec. 10.2 5a.m.) London, Mar. 10. Britain’s winter has been the mildest for 30 years. This has been a great boon for the fuel economy campaign. London throughout February had 78 hours of sunshine, making the month the sunniest February since 1902. January’s mean daytime temperature was 48 degrees, only exceeded three times since 1900. —P.A.
