WINGS FOR VICTORY
JEAN BATTEN TO TOUR BRITAIN BIG CROWD ADDRESSED IN LONDON (Rec. 10.10 a.m.) London, Mar. 9. Miss Jean Batten is to tour Britain to speak in the “Wings for Victory" campaign. She addressed a big crowd in Trafalgar Square and told them that thousands of pilots and crews were coming to Britain from every part of the Dominions.. They were leaving their homes and families to join in the fight lor freedom, and they were prepared to sacrifice everything “and give their all for us.” Led by Flight-Lieut. B. H. Beale, of Wellington, four officers and 114 members of the R.N.Z.A.F., who arrived from Canada and New Zealand’, formed part of a paraAe through London crowds, who gave them enthusiastic applause.—P.A.
