COLD AND CHANGEABLE Wellington, This Day. The indications are for fresh south-west to west winds, weather cold and changeable with occasional showers, but improving to-morrow. The further outlook is for fair and cool conditions.

Although there was bright sunshine for a time early this morning the skies later became overcast*and rain developed during the morning, when several heavy showers fell. There was a south-westerly wind and temperatures were much colder than have been experienced for the past few days. Yesterday there was six hours’ four minutes’ bright sunshine in Nelson.
