DRAPERS’ DISCUSSIONS

REGISTRATION OF TRADERS Discussions with representatives of the Directorate of Stabilisation, the Price Tribunal, the Ministry of Supply and other Government departments were held by the 80 delegates to the annual meeting of the New Zealand Federation of Drapers and Allied Retailers, held in Wellington. Wholesale soft goods associations also were represented.

The coupon system was discussed with the rationing controller, and a resolution was passed asking the Government to initiate a scheme of registration of traders in order to provide an additional check on traders complying with the regulations. Mr W. Simm. of Wellington, was presented with the first life member's certificate of the federation.
