NAVAL AWARDS
D.S.C. TO TWO N.Z. OFFICERS Wellington, This Day. His Majesty the King has approved the award of the D.S.C. to the following naval officers:— Lieutenant Lewis King, R.N.Z.N.V.R. Next-of-Kin, wife. Mrs E. F. King, 11 Shoal Bay road, Devonport, Auckland. The award is for bravery during an action against the enemy while escorting a north Russian convoy. Temporary Instructor Lieutenant George Lawrence Hogben, R.N.Z.N., Next-of-kin, wife, Mrs A. Hogben, Moorlands, Yorkshire. This award is for bravery in protection of a convoy. At the outbreak of war Instructor Lieutenant Hogben was a New Zealand Rhodes Scholar at New College, Oxford.
