ARMY OFFICER KILLED

CAPSIZE OF VEHICLE Whangarei. Jan. 30. When a military vehicle capsized over a hidden bank yesterday afternoon Captain George Eric Silk Brodie, Kaikohe, was killed. The accident occurred on the western side of Parahaki Hill, Whangarei when the vehicle was being tested over the usual testing ground. The bank was hidden by scrub and the vehicle fell 8 feet, landing upside down with the occupants underneath. The carrier was driven by Staff-Sergeant Jeffries, who escaped with a shaking Two other occupants, Lieutenant R. B Seabrook, and Sergeant N. Galbraith, suffered shock and were admitted to Whangarei emergency hospital. Captain Brodie was well known in Northland, and was proprietor of a garage and a
