TO BE RELEASED FROM ARMY

MEN FOR MUNITION PRODUCTION ALSO MOTOR TRUCK ASSEMBLY WORKERS Wellington, This Day. The Minister of Defence, Mr Jones, announced to-day that it had been decided to release further men from the army for temporary employment at Wellington in the assembly of motor trucks for army purposes and for munition production work. Men to be released would be invited to volunteer for the work. Men holding key positions in units or elegible for overseas service would not be released and preference would be given to men of lower medical grading or who were able to provide their own accommodation in or near Wellington. Most of the men required were those with previous experience in the work to be done but some unskilled hands were also required.—P.A.
