The “Golden age” is that period in the history of a country where most progress has been made in literature, arts, or military supremacy. The reign of Elizabeth is called the “golden age” of England. During that period the country not only succeeded in making itself feared among foreign nations by the defeat of the Spanish Armada, but it made rapid progress in literature and the fine arts.
