LOWER MOUTERE

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE The October meeting of the Lower Moutere Women’s Institute was held on Thursday afternoon at the residence of Mrs Harding. Mrs C. FT. Mackay presided and, after welcoming a new member read the motto for the month which was "When you come to the end of your tether remember God is at the other end.” “An emergency dish for a visitor” was the roll call and resulted in a number of interesting and tasty receipes being acquired by those present. Mrs Liddicoat read the report, which she had compiled to be presented at the members’ day meeting in Nelson by Mrs H. Boyes, Lower Moutere delegate. Two members were the recipients of shoulder sprays accompanied by birthday greetings. Further gifts were received in response to the leper appeal. Mesdames Reay and Starnes dispensed afternoon tea and the meeting concluded with the singing of the National Anthem.
