SOLDIER GARDENERS
GROUP PLANTING ONIONS Auckland. Oct. 5. A party of 25 soldiers, together with an officer, necessary non-commissioned ranks and a cook, are engaged in onion planting in the Pukekohe district. It is understood that the Army l'eceived instructions from Wellington to make the men available and that they reported to the secretary of the local onion growers’ association in Pukekohe.—P.A.
