FIGHTING SERVICES CLUB
WEEK-END ACTIVITIES The Air Force orchestra visited the Fighting Services Club on Friday night; when another enjoyable dance was held. During the evening the girls of the club sang a chorus, while, in the. course of a novelty dance, several ex-i hibition dances were given, providing; variety in the programme. On Saturday and Sunday the usual i crowds attended the club for afternoon j tea. tea or supper and enjoyed play-| ing ping pong, cards or games, or a com - 1 munity sing. Mr C. Higgs, of Mapua, who previously made a gift of potatoes to the club, last week donated a large sack of cauliflowers. This generous donation and other gifts of cake, scones, jam. etc.,, were very greatly appreciated by the committee. WIRELESS SET WANTED The Fighting Services Club is in need of a wireless set to which an electric j gramophone pick-up could be attached, j An electric gramophone pick-up has i been made available for the use of the ; club and if a wireless could be obtained either by donation or by purchase at a reasonable price, it woulo be a very great asset in providing music for
