BOMBERS DRIVEN OFF
ATTEMPTED ATTACK ON MALTA (Rec. 12.10 p.m.) London, Aug. 11. Enemy bombers attacked Malta on Monday night. Less than half reached their objective There was some damage to property and one person was injured. On Tuesday morning fighters attempted to sweep over the island, but were intercepted by Spitfires. In the afternoon reconnaissance planes appeared over the 1.-land. P.A.
