STILL FIGHTING IN TIMOR
DUTCH AND AUSTRALIAN TROOPS Sydney, Aug. 9. Australian and Dutch troops are still I fighting against the Japanese in Timor, j it is revealed from General MacArthur's { headquarters. The Australians formed : part of the garrison uhich landed on j the island last December to forestall i any attempt by the Japanese to use the ; territory’ as a base. Although strong ' Japanese forces have seized Koepang and Dilli, the Allied force has continued I to fight. Resistance is described as organised and not merely guerrilla I fighting.—P.A.
