N.Z.E.F. SOLDIER COURT- ! MARTI ALLED Wellington, This Day. I A member of the N.Z.E.F. who deserted while on active service in Egypt and was arrested three months later l in Australia, was sentenced to two years’ hard labour by a district courtmartial recently He was Sapper j George Dudley Bernard Burns, who ; deserted from the Ordnance Training i Depot on 12th January 1942 Private John Henry Dowie, found guilty of absenting himself without leave from ‘/4th April til! 21st May. i was sentenced to be imprisoned with ! hard labour for 60 days The Court consisted of Lieutenant- j Colonel H J Thompson, M C . Captain j S Hardy. Caotain C. P. Crane and Captain W Huse Major A. B Sievwright. attended as .Judge-Advocate.—P.A.
