WORKING PEOPLE UNITED
TO CONTINUE STRUGGLE FOR LIBERATION London, April 28. The National Council of Labour slated in a May Day manifesto: — “With deepened resolve in this third year of war, the working people find themselves united as never before to continue the struggle for the liberation of mankind. Equality of sacrifice has not yet been fully achieved, and maximum efficiency has still to be attained, j The organised trade union, co-opera-tive, and Labour movements have given j steady support to the National Government. which undertook to organise the nation for total war. We call on the Government to redeem its promises by organising, without regard to vested ! interests, the lull resources of the State 1 for offensive warfare, and to deal vig--1 orously with existent social evils which I weaken the nation’s purpose and ex- ' pose the mass of the people to explo' : tation.” —P.A.
