BROWN-OUT RESTRICTIONS
RELAXATION IN SYDNEY (Rec. 1.50 p.m.) Sydney, This Day. Relaxation of brown-out restrictions began in the metropolitan area last night, when lighting on trams and buses was sufficiently restored to enable passengers to read. Power street lighting will also be increased The Minister of Transport. Mr Sullivan, stated that night road accident figures made it obvious that there should be some lifting- of the brownout The Canberra correspondent of the “Daily Telegraph” says that General Blarney is preparing a report on the extent to which the brown-out can be safely relaxed.
