NO PERMANENT FATIGUES Sydney, April 23. It is the aim of all Australian Army commanders to see “fatigues” are kept tc an absolute minimum so as not to interfere with training. Fatigue duties are now distributed on a strict roster basis. There are no “permanent fatigues,” the nightmare of so many keen soldiers in the last war. This was stated at Eastern Command in answer to a question whether fatigue duty did not in some instances occupy too much of a trainee’s time. It was generally accepted that every man should take his turn, and company commanders were instructed to see that no man was kept longer than was reasonable on any one job.
