QUESTION OF ORGANISATION GENERAL MARSHALL SATISFIED (Rec. 1.55 p.m.) London, April 8. Rejlying to an interviewer’s question ! whether he was satisfied with ar- { rangements in Australia, General i Marshall (U.S. Army Chief of Staff) j said: ‘‘We are never satisfied, but ! we are busy. I think things being ori ganised there are in excellent shape.” General Marshall and Mr Hopkins ! plunged into talks with Mr Churchill j immediately after their arrival, j Mr Hopkins explained that he j came to London to see Mr Oliver Lyttelton in order to relate Mr Lyttelton’s new ministerial duties with the appropriate Washington department, and was also discussing with Mr Churchill matters President Roosevelt entrusted to him. Mr Hopkins said American production since entry into the war had been considerably stepped up and supplies for Russia were moving very [ rapidly and in some instances America ; had already sent the agreed amounts. “We are sending munitions every- | where in the world where Germans and Japanese ran be killed.”—P.A.
