MANPOWER COMMITTEE AT MOTUEKA
APPLICATIONS FOR LEAVE OF ABSENCE The Nelson Manpower Committee consisting of Messrs G. Page (chairman). J. Dicker and L. Ward sat at Motueka for the purpose of considering applications for leave of absence from Territorial camps for men whose services are required for harvesting of tobacco, hops, and apples. The followong cases were dealt with and leave was granted in those where the harvesting of crops could not be effected without the help of the men | appealed for. M. L. A. Inwood, appeal by H. Stanton for an employee. R. F. York, against mobilisation was dismissed subject to the Territorial not being required to enter camp before 16th March, 1942.
