JAPANESE SUBMARINES
OPERATING IN INDIAN OCEAN (Rec. 1.25 p.m.) N«v York, Feb. 16. : The Tokio official radio announced that the Minister of the Navy, Admiral Shimada, told Parliament that Japanese submarines were already operating in the Indian Ocean. He added that operations there would now he extended. — P.A. JAPAN AND DOMINIONS Rangoon, Feb. 16. Tokio radio quoted the “Nichi Nichi Shimbun” as saying that one of tne aims of Japan’s policy toward Australia will be the abolition of the Australian laws which hitherto have practically prohibited Japanese immigration. The Prime Minister, General Tojo. in a speech in the Diet, said, “Australia and New Zealand should avoid the, useless war in relying on Britain and, America, on whom no reliance can bej placed.
