WILL FIGHT ON

DUTCH EAST INDIES SEPARATE PEACE OFFER BY JAPAN (Rec. 11.43 a.m.) Batavia, Feb. 15. The possibility of a separate peace offer to the Netherlands East Indies by Japan is mentioned in an authoritative statement broadcast at Batavia. The statement says the Dutch are determined to fight on to the full extent of their resources and their plans will not leave room for strategical retreats or evacuations. The statement also declares that offi- j rial Nether land East Indies opinion is j that if the Dutch effort is to be of real | value to the Allied cause a constant (low of reinforcements must be maintained. It appeals for more Allied I actions of daring and dash —like the at- j tack on the Marshall Islands —in order to relieve the increasing Japanese pres sure on the Netherlands East Indies Islands.—P.A.
