FIRE IN NORMADIE

NAVAL COURT OF INQUIRY Washington. Feb. 14. Colonel Knox has convened a navy court of inquiry into the cause of the Normandie fire. Proceedings have already begun under the direction of Admiral Leahy. A London message says that the Vichy Government has issued a statement that legitimate compensation will be demanded for the disaster to the Normandie, as neither the crew, who were dismissed after the requisitioning, nor the French Admiralty had any connection with it.
