HAPPINESS CLUB

Members and friends of the Happiness Club held their first “flag 500" even.ng of the 1042 scries. The evening was very successful, 24 tables being occupied in the Civil Tea Rooms. After .‘H games had been played it was found that three tables had tied for the first prize with 17A flags each. The cards were cut to decide the winners, which proved to be Miss Hyde. Mrs Wells, Mr Persico and Mr De Cesare. The same four players also won the special table prize The consolation prizes were awarded to Mrs Burton. Mrs Batchelor. Mrs Broad and Mr Winstanley. The travelling prizes were won by Mrs Thwaites and Mr Coker, ani Mrs Sherwood was the winner of a large box of chocolates. After the cards a dainty supper was served, and in a short speech Mrs Clements, president, thanked all present for making the evening so enjoyable and hoped to sec them at the next evenings.
