IMPRISONMENT FOR SOLDIKR Wellington, This Day. ' Private Ivan Edward Irvine, of the j Ist Battalion NZ. Scottish Regiment. I pleaded guiity before a district courtmartial tc conduct to the prejudice of good order and military discipline and with absenting himself without leave The case against accused was that, at a North Island military camp on 23rd January he had taken an Army truck without authority and driven it to Wanganui Next day. the truck was found parked in the street there and taken possession of by the Army authorities Later accused was arrested The finding 2nd sentence ol the court have now been confirmed, the punishment being mitigated by the convening officer to imprisonment with hard labour for 31) days. —P.A.
