DEATH OF AIRMEN
FORMAL VERDICT RETURNED Blenheim, This Day. A formal verdict was returned at the! inquest into the deaths of SergeantPilot Matthew William Coxan, Leading Aircraftmen James Duff Hewitt. Charles William Hildreth and Gordon Keith Claris, the three latter pilot trainees, who were killed in a collision between two planes over the township of Renwick on the morning of 31st December. Lieutenant V/. H. Reid, medical officer at Woodbourne. described the men’s injuries and said that death in all four cases was instantaneous.—P.A.
