RAILWAY CRASH IN ENGLAND
ELEVEN KILLED AND MANY INJURED (Rec., 10.30 a.m.) London, Dec., 30. At least 11 were killed, and about 100 injured when a workers’ special and a passenger train collided at Eccles, Lancashire. Many pinned under the wreckage could be released only after workmen had stripped the coaches. Doctors, nurses and the Eccles A.R.P. casualty service tended the injured.— U.r.A. ________
