DAY OF PRAYER

OBSERVANCE IN NELSON UNITED SERVICE IN EVENING Special services have been arranged by the individual churches in Nelson for the world-wide Day of Prayer tomorrow and a united service, organised by the Nelson Ministers’ Association, is to be held in the Presbyterian Church at 7 o’clock in the evening. This will take the form of an intercessory service and there will be no sermon. The Rev. James Hay, 8.D., will conduct the service and there will be a short introductory address by the Dean of Nelson, Very Rev. P. B. Haggitt. Ven. Archdeacon Kimberley and Pastor J. K. Robinson will lead the prayers and the lesson will be read by the Rev. V/ Rowe. Roman Catholic congregations in the Nelson district are asked to observe tomorrow as a special day of prayer. At St. Mary’s there will be Alasses at 6 a m., 7 a.m. and 9 a.m.; at Richmond at 8 a.m. and at Wakegeld at 9.30 a.m.
