HOLIDAY RACING INCREASE OF £87,000 Investments totalling well over £500.000 kere put through the totalis--1 the Dominion over the Jong Labour Lay week-end. The holding of the Wellington Racing Club's third day on the holiday, instead of on a week-day as last year, made a difference of £50.305 on the one day. The Waikato Hunt meeting at Cambridge showed investments totalling £41.052 10s. an increase of £12.361 10s on last year, when very heavy rain fell. Decreases were shown at only two meetings, those of the Waverley Racing Club and the Poverty Bay Turf Club. A record turnover for the meeting was shown by the Grey mouth Trotting Club, the figure of £30.475 10s being an increase of £3604 10s on the 1940 result.
