Members of the Nelson team of the £ Fire Section of the Emergency Preel cautions Scheme gave a fine performance at the recent Fire Brigades’ corns'petition held at Motueka when they o had to compete with brigades in the t Nelson and Marlborough provinces, e 'Their effort in being runners-up in the o | Championship Aggregate was the result o ! of a constant and thorough period of e j training in which the men gave many -(hours of their spare time. All members of the Fire Section are yj advised that a further try out of the ’• whole Emergency Precautions Scheme s in Nelson may be held at an early date J - an.l the hour may be in the vicinity of 6 p.m. On the sounding of the sirens, k:u 11 members are to report to the Fire ' Station immediately, in uniform if “ 1 possible. - j The next afternoon parade of the 'section will be held at the Fire Station at 2 o’clock on Saturday next, Ist , J November, when training operations I with the trailer pump will be undertaken provided that the necessary >e j equipment is on hand, i Owing to a number of members going overseas, there are vacancies for ' six new members in the Fire Section ,y and anyone who is desirous of joining r- 1 this branch of the E.P.S. should get in .•- touch with Mr F.
