RICHMOND AMBULANCE DIVISION
TEAM WINS B.M.A. SHIELD After their weekly parade the members of the Waimea Ambulance and Richmond Nursing Division spent an enjoyable social hour, the occasion being to receive into the Waimea Division the B.M.A. Shield won by the stretcher trains at the Nelson District Competitions. After apologising for the absence of the chairman of the social committee. Mr Shackleton, Pte. Fauchelle asked Superintendent M. Haycock to accept tile shield on behalf of the Division. Superintendent Haycock congratulated the team—Sergeant Robbins, Privates Fauchelle, Watt and Croucher on its success and also Sergeant Robbins, Privates Field and Fauchelle on attaining third equal in the Ashton, Stedman and Harley Cups respectively. Sergeant Robbins thanked his team mates for the way in which they had worked with him and hoped the shield would have a long stay in the division. He expressed his disappointment that the Nursing Division was not better represented in the various events. Lady Superintendent T. Haycock, speaking on behalf of the Nursing Division, congratulated the team on its success and in reply to Sergeant Robbins said that although no distinction was awarded the nurses much experience had been gained. It was also stated that a number of nurses had completed sixty hours’ hospital training for V.A. work which had called for much sacrifice of time on their part. 'Hie evening closed with the singing of the National Anthem followed by supper served by the members of the Nursing Division.
